Meet Dr Dragul
Reflecting on my 40 years in practice…
I have seen tremendous strides made in the use of technology in medical practice, for example, minimally invasive surgery.
At the same time, however, the practice of medicine has become more impersonal.
This is disappointing to me and therefore I strive harder to deliver care the old-fashioned way.
Patients know that they can count on my opinion whether it is for a surgical or a non-surgical approach. I pride myself in being able to give them the care and compassion that they are seeking.
Allergies First
Dr. Dragul has been uniquely successful in preventing ENT surgeries by treating the patient’s allergies first. He states, “I have realized over the years that when ENT surgery fails, it is generally because allergies have been overlooked or not treated.
At Associates of Otolaryngology, our ability to successfully treat allergic diseases is very unique among ENT offices in Colorado.
Our success rate is 90%.
Pediatric Passion
“Children’s ENT needs hold a special spot in my heart. The pediatric aspect of my practice has been especially rewarding – what a thrill it is to restore hearing, breathing and good sleep in a child. It can be truly life-changing surgery!”
Nose Surgery Passion
“Whether it be restoring someone’s breathing or making their nose beautiful, it still excites me.”
Why I Chose Otolaryngology
In 1962, while associated with the U.S. Public Health Services, I was responsible for the medical care of Navajo Indians on a reservation in Gallup, New Mexico. During this time, my fascination for otolaryngology was inspired by a visiting ENT (ear, nose, throat) doctor from Albuquerque.
The ENT doctor came to our hospital to do ear work on the Indians. When I watched him perform major ear surgery with a microscope, I was motivated to specialize in the ear, nose and throat field.
I chose ENT because my first love was surgery and in otolaryngology, I could do everything – take care of all age groups, be a surgeon and treat complicated medical conditions.
Founder of Associates of Otolaryngology
“My goal was always to assemble an outstanding team of compassionate ear, nose and throat doctors that deliver exceptional care. That goal has been accomplished with our group of doctors, namely Alan Lipkin, Nicolette Picerno, and Ed Hepworth. Each is a leader in their field of endeavor – I am very proud of each of them.”
